The pre-iGCSE courses are suitable for all students aged 11-14 and are designed to help students build strong foundations in English by developing their knowledge of a range of text types and their skills writing for different audiences and for different purposes.
The iGCSE course options are tailored to the requirements of the Cambridge First Language syllabus and focus on the specific assessment tasks and criteria for this syllabus, although students following other specifications have also taken the course and found it helpful for developing general English skills which are similar across boards. Further details on the Cambridge iGCSE English Language syllabus can be found here:

The interactive video course comprises over 40 interactive video lessons, totalling over 60 hours of content, using the core textbook as a framework.
The first three blocks of the course focus on mastering skills and consist of 30 video lessons each of which is 1-1.5 hours in length. Each lesson is aligned to the textbook and designed to offer guidance on a specific syllabus area. Students can pause the video at key points and attempt questions before comparing their answers with model responses I have written, so they can self-assess and check they’re on track.
Each lesson maps onto a section of the syllabus, building all the core skills gradually, and a range of additional resources are provided for students to extend their reading, develop their skills and consolidate their understanding.
Unit 4 consists of a set of recordings of the Exam Preparation Course, which can also be taken as a standalone course either live or as a recorded block.
Each lesson is accompanied by an annotated model response I have written to illustrate what makes a good answer and what examiners are looking for. Each tutorial for this section of the course is 1 hr 30-1hr 45 minutes long and the recordings can be watched in more than one sitting.

The pre-iGCSE course options are divided into Lower Key Stage 3 webinars which are suitable for ages 11-12 and Upper Key Stage 3 suitable for ages 12-14 although these are approximate guides and the webinars may suit students who are older or younger. Many of the parents who sit in on classes have also enjoyed watching the webinars alongside their children!
The iGCSE courses are suitable for ages 14-16. Most students complete the course over a period of a year up to two years.

pre-IGCSE courses for students ages 11-14:
Live courses run during term time with three terms a year: autumn, (September to December), spring, (January to March), and summer, (April to late June). The recorded blocks can be purchased at any time and completed at your own pace.
The iGCSE recorded courses are entirely flexible so you can start at any time of year.
The live Exam Preparation Course is available from January through to March each year. This course is also available as a recorded block that can be purchased at any time of year. Although this course can be taken as an intensive course to help prepare students for the exams, following on from the complete iGCSE course, it can be taken as a standalone course.

Recorded pre-/iGCSE and iGCSE courses can be completed over your preferred timescale. Webinars for live courses are recorded and can be accessed at any time during or after the course.

For pre-iGCSE courses no additional materials are required, all materials and resources will be supplied.
The Cambridge iGCSE English Language course options are aligned to the Collins student textbook for this syllabus. Students will need to purchase this book as the video tutorials are designed to work in conjunction with the core textbook. The recorded lessons walk students through sample responses for the textbook tasks. Various online retailers stock the textbook. https://collins.co.uk/products/9780008262006
