A series of ten webinars suitable for lower KS3 students aged around 11-12 years old, although they may suit slightly older or younger students depending on ability.
The theme for this term is All Creatures Great and Small and we’ll be exploring a wide range of texts relating to various aspects of the animal kingdom and the relationship between people and animals. We will be studying extracts from novels and poetry featuring furry and feathered friends and looking at how to write reports, letters, descriptive and discursive pieces on different animal-related topics.
A wide range of supplementary cross-curricular resources and optional written tasks will be provided, including links to relevant articles, news reports, websites and documentaries to give students the opportunity to broaden their reading and build their knowledge of effective writing as well as extend their vocabulary and understanding of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Classes will be held on Mondays from 11am-12 noon. Dates for the webinars are as follows:
Monday September 16th, 23rd, 30th
October 7th, 14th
**No lesson October 21st – half term break**
October 28th
November 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th
Recordings will be made available in Google Classroom shortly after each week’s live event, so students are able to review what is covered each each week.
