A series of ten webinars suitable for upper KS3 students aged around 12-14 years old, although they may suit slightly older or younger students depending on ability.
In this block, themed around water, we’ll be studying a range of different pieces including speeches and persuasive writing, descriptive accounts and journal texts, letters, news reports, poetry and extracts from stories inspired by the seas and oceans. We will explore the vital role this element plays in all our lives not just in terms of its importance for survival, but how it fires the imagination and has been a rich source of literary inspiration.
A variety of supplementary resources will be provided including links to relevant articles, news reports, websites and documentaries to give students the opportunity to broaden their reading and build their knowledge of effective writing as well as extend their vocabulary and their technical skills through the use of accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation.
