⭐Ten days, ten tips!⭐

How is your exam preparation going? I thought I’d share a series of tips here to support

students in the home stretch!

Tip #1:

⭐Read the question and answer it!⭐

It may sound obvious, but the number one reason why students don’t get the marks they’re

capable of is not reading the question carefully enough. This is true for all subjects, not just

English! It’s all too easy, especially under pressure of time, to skim read the question, *think*

you know what’s being asked and, in a rush to get writing, miss the mark!

I’d recommend you:

⭐Read the question *then read it again* and underline or highlight the key words.

⭐Take a moment to ask yourself, *what am I being asked to do here?*

⭐Ensure your answer matches the requirements of the question. As you write, check back

against the question to stay on track, especially for the longer written responses.
