A series of ten webinars suitable for students aged around 11-12 years old, although they may suit slightly older or younger students depending on ability.
The theme for this term is All Creatures Great and Small and we’ll be exploring a wide range of texts relating to various aspects of the animal kingdom and the relationship between people and animals. We will be studying extracts from novels and poetry featuring furry and feathered friends and looking at how to write reports, letters, descriptive and discursive pieces on different animal-related topics.
A wide range of supplementary cross-curricular resources and optional written tasks will be provided, including links to relevant articles, news reports, websites and documentaries to give students the opportunity to broaden their reading and build their knowledge of effective writing as well as extend their vocabulary and understanding of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Recordings are made available via Google Classroom, so students are able to review the material at any point. Additionally, an optional written task is provided for students to complete if they wish to.
Classes will be held on Mondays from 11am-12 noon. Term dates are as follows:
September 21st, 28th
October 5th, 12th, 19th
**No lesson October 26th – half term break**
November 2nd 9th, 16th and 23rd, 30th
