A series of ten webinars suitable for students aged around 12-14 years old, although they may suit slightly older or younger students depending on ability.
The theme for this block is Water, Water Everywhere. We’ll be studying a range of different pieces including speeches and persuasive writing, descriptive accounts and journal texts, letters, news reports, poetry and extracts from stories inspired by the seas and oceans. We will explore the vital role this element plays in all our lives not just in terms of its importance for survival, but how it fires the imagination and has been a rich source of literary inspiration.
A variety of supplementary resources will be provided, including links to relevant articles, news reports, websites and documentaries to give students the opportunity to broaden their reading and build their knowledge of effective writing as well as extend their vocabulary and their technical skills in terms of structuring and sequencing their work effectively and ensuring accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Recordings are made available via Google Classroom, so students can review what is covered in each webinar at any time. An optional written task is provided for students to complete if they wish to.
Once you have completed your booking, please look out for an email with details on how to access Google Classroom and all the recordings and resources.
